One Louisville Provides Toolkit for Businesses Affected by I-65 Closure

With the temporary closure of I-65 approaching, businesses throughout the corridor should prepare for significant transportation and access impacts. While this is a critical infrastructure upgrade that will ensure long-term connectivity in the Louisville region, it will no doubt create confusion and inconveniences for Louisvillians and visitors.

Whether it be your customers or your employees, proactive communication that you’re open and how to reach your business is critical. To support you through this period, One Louisville has developed a comprehensive I-65 Closure Business Toolkit with ready-to-use resources to help minimize disruption.

One Louisville Business Resources:

To help your business prepare, the One Louisville I-65 Closure Business Toolkit includes:

  • Social media graphics and post copy to keep customers informed
  • Alternate routing guides for customers coming from every direction
  • Employee communication templates
  • Step-by-step instructions for updating Google and Apple business listings
  • A printable action checklist to ensure nothing falls through the cracks

.
You can access the full toolkit here. Feel free to share it with a business you know will be impacted anywhere in our community.

About the closure:

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, June 1, a five-mile segment of I‑65 between the Watterson Expressway (I‑264) and downtown Louisville (Jefferson Street) will fully close for approximately two months. The interstate is scheduled to reopen two lanes in each direction on Saturday, August 1. A two‑mile portion of southbound I‑65, from University Boulevard to I‑264, is expected to reopen by July 1, restoring access to four key ramps.
