How does One Louisville work with Louisville Metro Government?

One Louisville is an independent 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization serving as the region’s chamber of commerce and economic development organization. While we collaborate with Louisville Metro Government and other public, private, and community partners to advance regional growth, we are not a department, agency, or extension of Metro Government. Membership investments support One Louisville’s programs, advocacy, economic development efforts, and chamber services, not city government or any political administration.

Why is One Louisville changing the membership model?

One Louisville was built on a simple realization: that regional economic development, chamber, talent, and advocacy efforts work better together. We listened to hundreds of businesses and stakeholders across the region over the past few months to better inform our approach to service. Businesses told us they wanted something simpler, more accessible, and built around where they are — not a one-size-fits-all experience. We’ve built out a new model with simpler tiers, a clearer value proposition, and an accessible entry point for anyone in the business community to engage with us. August 3 is when the model launches. This is the membership experience we’ve been building toward.

What happened to my GLI membership?

Your history with GLI is our foundation that we have built upon. The combination unlocks a stronger network, more resources, and better service for the business community. The complimentary membership period was intentional. We didn’t want to ask anyone to pay for a model we were still building. August 3 is when we’re ready to stand behind what we’ve built.

What’s different? What’s the same?

Core benefits members valued – including events, roundtables, policy taskforces, insurance products, staff relationships, ribbon cutting, chamber and partner discounts – are carried forward and accessible on our website. What changed: the model is simpler, better organized by tier, and more directly tied to what a business at each stage needs.

Pricing has been restructured across all tiers to better reflect the value at each level and the stage of business it serves.

My dues are increasing – why?

The model is more capable than what it’s replacing For members seeing an increase, the investment reflects a deeper network, more formalized staff relationships, and resources that are now built into the tier rather than available as add-ons.

My dues are going down – what did I lose?

For members seeing a decrease, the decrease reflects a deliberate repositioning of the tier structure, not a reduction in value. Leadership moved from $7,500 to $5,000 because Investor is now the category for regional co-investment — Leadership is priced to reflect what it delivers as a chamber tier, not to blur the line between chamber membership and investor relationship.

Are there payment options?

Yes, quarterly payments are available at all tiers. Nonprofit rates are available at enrollment.

Is pricing negotiable?

Pricing is set at the tier level and is consistent across members. What is flexible is which tier is right for your business. If our recommendation doesn’t feel like the right fit, we’re happy to explore other options with you.

How do I know which tier is right for my business?

Tiers are designed to map where your business is in its growth. Community+, Access, Growth, and Leadership are the chamber tiers — the network, events, programming, and staff relationships get deeper and more tailored as a business grows. What does “Community” mean?

Our free Community tier is the front door to our membership journey and the beginning of your relationship with One Louisville Community members receive access to our Local Growth team, SBDC, METCO resources, and our public resource directory. While this is not a chamber membership, it is how we reach businesses we haven’t been able to serve before.

What is Investor and how is it different from Leadership?

Investors sit beyond the chamber tiers for organizations that see themselves as co-investors in Louisville’s regional economic development. Beyond engaging with the chamber, these organizations are shaping what happens at the regional level. In addition to chamber benefits, it includes governance engagement, policy influence, exclusive insights and experiences that chamber tiers don’t carry alone. The entry point is $10,000 and the relationship is cultivated directly with senior staff.
