Louisville tops Site Selection Magazine’s List of Top Ohio River Corridor Metros for fourth consecutive year

Louisville, Ky. (November 2, 2026) – For the fourth consecutive year, Site Selection Magazine has named Louisville the top Metro for economic development along the Ohio River Corridor. Louisville takes the top spot in 2026 with 71 projects, including multi-billion dollar investments by Ford and GE Appliances, a Haier Company, and Arvato’s new $51.5 million warehouse.

“Louisville’s economy is on a roll,” said Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg. “We are outpacing peer markets in new economic development projects and investments. We’re showing Louisville is not just ready to complete – we’re ready to win. We created One Louisville earlier this year to help businesses to expand or relocate to Louisville, and this recognition is proof the strategy is increasing our competitive advantage.”

Each year, Site Selection ranks the Top 10 metros and micropolitan areas along the entire 981 miles of the Ohio River corridor. The rankings are determined by an index based on points awarded across cumulative and per-capita categories for corporate end user facility project tallies and project affiliated capital investment and job creation numbers from March 2025 through mid-August 2026 in the Conway Projects Database. Projects qualify for the database if they involve new construction and meet one of these three criteria: at least $1 million invested, at least 20 new jobs or at least 20,000 new sq. ft. of space.

“While communities across the country are battling economic headwinds, Louisville is winning historic investments with thousands of new, good-paying jobs,” said Trevor Pawl, CEO of One Louisville. “Our diverse economy and strong partnerships with local leaders are making Louisville an easier place to do business, and companies are taking notice.”

The recognition comes off a record year for economic growth for the region in 2025 and follows the formation of One Louisville earlier this year. One Louisville serves as the single front door for economic development in the region, simplifying business attraction and expansion for site selectors and businesses looking to grow.

Site Selection Magazine is a publication of Conway Data and is recognized as the leading publication in corporate real estate, facility planning, location analysis and foreign direct investment.
